Happy New Year
>> 01 January 2010
There is nothing more hopeful than the first day of the New Year. It's like a baby, a cute little frisky puppy, innocent, without defects, ready to be molded into just about anything. Nothing feels more optimistic than a new year. Everything is going to be different. You're going to get promotion/raise/boyfriend. You're going to lose that 10/20/100 bazillion pounds. You're going to pay off the $500,000 of debt and save the same amount just by giving up that $3 cuppa' coffee a day. On a side note I never get that. If I have a $3 cup of coffee a day that's $1095 a year. I'm sorry but saving an extra thou a year isn't gonna do much for my economic outlook considering that $3 cup of coffee is the only thing that saves me FROM PRISON for killing a mo 'fo.
Of course fast forward a few months when the New Year is chewing the shit of your new shoes and shitting all over the rug when you remember back to this day and wonder just where all the hope and optimism went.
So like everyone else...I like to make New Years resolutions. Only I like to pretty um up just a smidge and call them goals. Ohhhh, ahhhh, lofty.
This year-no resolutions. I am declaring an economic embargo on resolutions. As Nancy Reagan once said...Just Say NO!
No losing weight, no getting out of debt, no savings, no promotions.
NO, NO, NO!
I'm not doing it. You can't make me.
So there.
Except, well I guess I should blog more
....and maybe walk my dog once in a while.
....and well maybe I guess I could actually spend more time with people I really like
....and maybe cook dinner for my family once in awhile. Plus...
Dammit!

You're totally making resolutions whether you like it or not missy! Honestly, I never really do. I have general things I'd like to accomplish like be a good daughter, sister, friend, and not kill my annoying neighbor who patrols the laundry room and screams at anyone who forgets to clean the lint filter. But I digress... I send you all my good e-vibes and hope the next year proves peaceful and fruitful for you and the munchkins:) xoxoxo
