Ding Dong, the wicked witch is dead!

I do believe sometimes a single execution is justified, warranted, even beneficial if it saves 100's of thousands of lives. Yes- I'm a woman and a mom and usually somewhat of a wimp when it comes to violence. I believe in gun control and just say no to war and hard drugs. However if you feel the need to kill people, many people, even your own people, then you don't need to share the same planet as everyone else (Mr. Gadhafi). But I digress.
But do you ever wonder just what event is going to The One. The beginning of the end? The nail in the coffin? The one drink too many? In 20 or 50 years are we going to look back and tell our children. Yep, everything was going swimmingly but then we hacked the head off this snake, danced around his grave, and royally pissed off all the other snakes in his den. We had the good life but then we decided to cut down all the trees in all the forests and then it was one meteorological ass-kicking after another.
Are you ever worried we're living the first 30 minutes of every disaster movie ever made? The part where everything is going along normally, sitting on the San Francisco bridge bitching about the traffic, until whamo the meteor hits the roof of the car and you roll over trapped under the sea and have to escape to the top while Fergie sings and the fiddlers play to escape into the icy waters. Wait, I might be mixing up my movies.
I know- deep, dark and more than a little depressing for a Monday morning. I'm so sorry. But I look at all the celebrating in the streets and all I can think is Oh Crap.

I couldn't agree with you more. Watching the news last night made me very sad.
When people are in the street celebrating the death of another I do think we are in trouble.
My sister and I were talking about this same thing this morning. All of the celebration...it's gonna piss off all of the other snakes.
I'm not sorry a very dangerous person has been taken out of the equation. But I can't celebrate the death of a human being...no matter who he is.
