How many people?

Finally!!!
I'm not going to say I thought this day was never going to come but let's just say it was touch-and-go for awhile.
Graduation Day.
The only upside to the Mother Nature on acid environmental experiment we seem to be experiencing this year was the absolutely perfect temperature. Not too cold. Not too hot. Goldilocks couldn't have asked for anything better.
Yes- I cried. Just a glistening tear or two. Certainly not the bucketful of sobs the chick next to me was indulging in. It's ok. Yes, we are all proud. pat pat pat.
In all seriousness, it was an interesting experience watching the kid cross the stage and not just because he was dead last and I could no longer feel my left butt-check.
I hadn't expected the feeling of utter relief that washed over me. The feeling of "I did it". Yes I know- way to steal his thunder. But I did it. I raised this kid all the way into adulthood (sort-of). He's a functioning member of society. He traversed high school with the minimum of damage and emerged the other side. We didn't end up on the 10 o'clock news. Yeah.
Oh come on- you know you think it. But it's done. Except.
Now college.
