Oh not me - I'm all about some freedom of speech. Hell, we have the troops out there fighting for us we may as well use what it is they are protecting. I don't do it a lot but I do it when it strikes my fancy; they way I look at it is if you don't agree don't read the post or comment and tell me that I suck.

BUT - as for the gay rights....I'm an advocate. I'm a married straight woman who fully supports gay rights. I think it's ludicrous to continue on this path. Oh, and as for your apology - I feel ya; I'm from the deeeeep south :(

I'm with you, Z. I tend to avoid the two areas on my own blog as well. I only touched on politics once, in a very lighthearted way, last year. I wrote a totally non-confrontational post, poking fun at people who were getting all angry about Obama making a Back to School speech for kids at the start of the school year. (Anti-Obama parents were calling it brainwashing, indoctrination, etc., which I thought was ludicrous.)

The post quickly made the rounds on the Interweb, and it was the first time I received 1) over a hundred comments within three hours, and 2) comments by people telling me I was a stupid moron and I should shut the hell up.

So that was it for me.

I feel your pain, I don't really live anywhere but on the road. I'm just glad you don't talk about religion. Those blogs are stifling.

The only reason gay marriage is not being legalized is: 1. people don't want to see men kissing men and 2. money. The costs for all these new legal spouses would be humongous! (I know I said reason, as in singular, but I can't follow my own rules) Imagine the government suddenly having to dish out for all these new spouses?

Let those who love each other, have the same rights and benefits as everyone else. That just makes me want to hurt shallow-minded, people.!!!
